Phyphr with 5AM Trio & McWavy
Animas City Theatre Presents Phyphr with 5AM Trio & McWavy Friday January 16th 2026 $30 / $35 / 21+ No Exceptions Including Minors with Legal Guardian $40 Two Night Pass for Friday January 16th & January 17th Phyphr is creating a buzz with his unique blend of electro-soul and funky electronic songwriting. Merging live guitar performances with electronic production, Phyphr brings a vibrant mix of instrumentation and original vocals to the forefront. His musical journey has led him to share stages with renowned acts such as The Floozies, Daily Bread, Manic Focus,SoDown, SunSquabi, and Maddy O’Neal. Originally from the east coast and now a Denver resident, Phyphr is adding his own twistto the Mile High City’s electronic sound. His dynamic performances have graced festivals including Summer Camp, Cascade Equinox, Hulaween, Gem & Jam, Dreamscape, and Sonic Bloom. Phyphr’s impact has been recognized by various publications, including 303Magazine, River Beats Dance, Electric Hawk, This Song Is Sick, EDMTunes, and T.H.E Music Essentials. Pulling threads from dance music, funk, hip-hop, jazz, and beyond, 5AM Trio blurs the lines between electronic production and live instrumental improvisation. What began as producer/keyboardist 5AM’s vision to merge high-fidelity electronic sound design with the spontaneity of a band has evolved into a powerhouse ensemble featuring the dextrous drumming of Aaron Harel (ZONE Drums) and the guitar wizardry of Keith Wadsworth (Wax Future). Their shows hit with club-level sonic precision while delivering the fire and interplay of a full-on jam session. The Trio’s genre-defying sets have lit up major stages from Red Rocks to Sonic Bloom, Elements, Summerdance, Resonate, and Secret Dreams, sharing bills with innovators like Papadosio, CloZee, Opiuo, Lab Group, Break Science, Lotus, and Tiedye Ky. But beyond the festivals and flashing lights, 5AM Trio thrives on human connection. They celebrate community—shouting out connection and sobriety,, donating a portion of every shows’ revenue to tree-planting efforts, and encouraging audiences to create their own art in any form. With a combination of r&b/psychedelic soul vocals, keyboards, saxophones, and eclectic instrumentation, McWavy’s live performance enchants audiences by connecting on an emotional level through colorful layers and genuine lyrics. Often compared to Tash Sultana and FKJ, McWavy has a unique sound that is brought to life from real experiences and felt in the truth of her words. You can expect the unexpected from this particular underdog, you never know what surprise is coming next! McWavy has shared the stage with a broad range of national/global acts such as: GRiZ, CloZee, Daily Bread, The Floozies, Michal Menert, Pretty Lights, Vincent Antone, Break Science, CARRtoons, BadSnacks, Late Night Radio, Manic Focus, Tripp St, SoDown, Anomalie, Freddy Todd, Exmag, Artifakts, The Russ Liquid Test, Jason Leech (tour), Honeycomb, Josh Teed (tour), Marcus King, and Marvel Years.

From the favelas in Brazil, Femi Kuti’s Shrine in Lagos, Tokyo’s bluegrass clubs, Ayahuasca ceremonies in Central America, Gamelan performances in Bali, desert festivals in the Australian Outback, and the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s modernized new capital Astana, the band spreads its message by building bridges across musical cultures in their own unique way. Dirtwire plays an array of instruments both ancient and modern, including West African kamale ngonis, jaw harps, space fiddles, whamola basses, Rickenbacher electric 12 string guitars, bowed Banjos and mouth harps from around the globe, all interwoven into modern laptop beat creation. Hailing from the underground west coast electronic bass music scene Dirtwire finds itself at the forefront of experimental electronic music production mixing in their wide array of world instruments with sampled beats and 808’s. Dirtwire’s live shows are a communal psychedelic journey, ranging from down home boot stomping get downs, to bass and blues electronic mashups, to ethereal cinematic beat driven soundscapes. Woven into each is the exploration of where live instruments meet computer production, and where tradition meets experimentation. Will Evans pulls everyone into his embrace. He musically accesses a space without boundaries where all are welcome to commune openly and move freely. Through quotable folk-inspired lyrics, breezy grooves, and roots energy, it’s as if he’s giving you permission to be that pure self you can’t always be at work or even at home…The Rhode Island-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist also puts his words into action via his “Kind Folk” fan community, activating small acts of kindness, charity, and goodwill in tandem with performances nationwide. After generating over 50 million streams independently, he inspires once again through a series of 2024 releases and much more to come.

Each title serves as a concise summation of the concept guiding each project. Keller’s albums reflect his pursuit to create music that sounds like nothing else. Un-beholden to conventionalism, he seamlessly crosses genre boundaries. The end product is music that encompasses rock, jazz, funk and bluegrass, and always keeps the audience on their feet. Keller built his reputation initially on his engaging live performances, no two of which are ever alike. For most of his career he has performed solo. His stage shows are rooted around Keller singing his compositions and choice cover songs, while accompanying himself on acoustic guitar, bass, guitar synthesizer and drum samples; a technique called live phrase sampling or“looping”. The end result often leans toward a hybrid of alternative folk and groovy electronica, a genre Keller jokingly calls “acoustic dance music” or ADM.” Keller’s constant evolution has led to numerous band projects as well; Keller & The Keels, Grateful Grass, KWahtro, Keller and the Travelin’ McCourys, Grateful Gospel, More Than A Little and most recently DeadPettyKellerGrass. You can even catch him from time to time going back to his troubadour roots with his “Shut the Folk Up and Listen” series. Keller can be found playing clubs and festivals with these projects and his tried and true solo looping show, always changing things up and keeping moving.
