Motifv, the musical moniker of Joseph Kechter, is a 26 year old musician and producer born and raised in the foothills of Northern Colorado. His beautifully blunted beats meander between futuristic synthesis and collages of gospel and soul. Motifv has maintained an almost analog mystique, influenced by his scenic surroundings and also reflected in his visual offerings.Kicking off 2024 with a bold leap in the Motifv introspective narrative, he released a limited edition LP with Philos Records – Where the Sun Sets and Behind the Moon, two captivating EP’s which form one extraordinary listening experience. With 3 full bodies of work released and more underway, you can always find him deep in the studio, constantly cooking up something for the future.

“He accomplishes his own soulful sound … fusing together many components into an art form of his own.” – Stereofox

Phyphr is creating his own sound that lies between Soul Bass, Delta Blues and Upside-Down Gospel. Merging live guitar with talk box and big bass drops, Phyphr is defining a brand new sound that you won’t find anywhere else. This sonic fingerprint has led him to perform alongside artists like Manic Focus, The Floozies, Daily Bread and SunSquabi, to name a few. Hailing from North Carolina, Phyphr’s unforgettable performances have graced festivals including Hulaween, Gem & Jam, Summer Camp and Cascade Equinox. Phyphr’s fast-track growth has been recognized by 303 Magazine, River Beats Dance, Electric Hawk, ThisSongIsSick, EDMTunes, and many others. In 2024, Phyphr amassed 1.3M Streams, 155k Listeners, and 200% growth on Spotify alone. With his streaming stats increasing rapidly, Phyphr is at the forefront of the newest generation of soul.  His upcoming Sophomore LP titled, “Crossroads” explores themes of darkness, light, and rebirth.
